Certificate Ceremony

Arrival Time: Students should arrive at Zanesville High School by 5:45 p.m. Specific instructions regarding entering the building, where to line up, etc., will be shared with students during a meeting with seniors during the regular school day. We encourage parents, relatives and friends to arrive by 6:30 p.m. to secure a convenient parking space. 

Parking Info: Parking is permitted in Zanesville High School parking lots and Faith United Methodist Church. Handicap accessible parking is available in front of the high school or by using the Clearview Street parking lot for those needing special accommodations. Please be respectful of the neighbors near the stadium and Zanesville High School and do not park in the grass. See parking map below.

Seating Info: Seating for all guests will be in the bleachers on both sides of the stadium. Accessible seating is available on both sides of the stadium.

All students need to be dressed in their home school cap and gown. Please have your gowns pressed and presentable for this occasion. This is a semi-formal ceremony, so students should dress appropriately. Students may go to their Main Office to see about borrowing a cap and gown. If your student does borrow a cap and gown, we will hold their Certificate until the cap and gown are returned. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure the gown is pressed and looks presentable. 

We ask guests to refrain from cheering and applauding until all names are announced so each parent can hear his/her student’s name being read. Because of the formal nature of the ceremony, we ask that you do not bring silly string, beach balls or any other objects that will distract from the importance of the ceremony. Please wait until after the recessional to leave the stadium so the students may exit first.
