Workforce Development Services

Mid-East Career and Technology Centers provides students with the knowledge and skills required for employment and advancement in the workplace. Our school district opens the doors to rewarding careers and brighter futures.

The Workforce Development Department is responsible for providing a service to community employers and all career technical education job training students (youth and adult) which will assist their transition from school to employment.

Internship

Mid-East Career and Technology Centers offers students a variety of Internship opportunities with our business and industry partners after their junior year.

Eligibility Requirements

Grade Level: Senior ONLY
GPA: 2.0 or higher and not failing any classes
Attendance: Students must maintain good standing in regards to attendance. A student currently eligible for a certificate of completion/participation is considered to be in good standing (please see the Student Handbook section titled “Certificate Requirements”).
Discipline: Any disciplinary infractions will be taken into consideration for eligibility.
Approval: Students must have approval from their Career-Technical Instructor, School Counselor, and Workforce Development Coordinator.

Internship Guidelines

Summer Internship Program

The purpose of the Summer Internship Program is to provide the opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience throughout the summer months between their junior and senior year.

The guidelines and requirements for the Summer Internship Program are similar to the Internship program listed in the section above. Our Workforce Development Coordinators will present information about this opportunity around the beginning of the 4th quarter of students' junior year.
