Career Exploration Activities

The Career Development team at Mid-East serves 13 partner school districts. The goal is to assist teachers with career awareness for their students and to share the connection to the community and future work. Some experiences that are available are careers on the walk, career days, vehicle career day, classroom activities, wild animal track painting and various community speakers. An elementary newsletter is provided to the partner schools in the fall and spring, showcasing career activities at the elementary level.

Careers in My Community

Mid-East Career and Technology Centers provides a 6-week career exploration program, called Careers in My Community, focusing on Agriculture, Construction, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Transportation at select elementary schools in our service area. These units comprise of a 40 minute "specials" class where students explore careers through hands-on experiences and are provided by a licensed elementary school teacher that specializes in career awareness. Industry and business partners from the community are embedded throughout the program, so students are hearing from the experts about the career opportunities in their community.
