Mid-East and Literacy Council Assist at Zane Grey Family Literacy Night
Bard the Bunny with StudentsMid-East Career and Technology Centers and the Muskingum County Literacy Council recently participated in the Family Literacy Night held at Zane Grey Elementary School. Mid-East Natural Resource Conservation (NRC) student Jonny Hummel portrayed Bard the Bunny, who was assisted by Seth Anslow, also an NRC student. The two distributed free books from the Muskingum County Literacy Council. Other NRC students Alex Scott, Kendall Bryan, Venita Fisher and Kayla Paul helped attendees paint Plaster of Paris molds of wild animal tracks. Also showcased during the evening was Jarvis, the NAO Robot from the Robotics, Automation & Design (RAD) Program. Students James Hill and Kataya Lamar were on hand to demonstrate the capabilities of the robot. Mid-East Career Specialist Robin McQuaid and RAD instructor Jamie Petrofes attended with the students.
