Career & Academic Readiness Education

Are you looking to finish high school and/or improve your academic skills to get a better job or to get into college?
The Career & Academic Readiness Education (CARE) program at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers offers free classes, workshops and programs to help students prepare for their chosen career pathway. For some, this includes completing high school, improving basic skills, and/or entering an adult certification program or college.
All students attend an orientation to register for classes, take an assessment, learn about services and programs, and design a career and academic plan. The orientation helps students to identify their goals, strengths, and interests in order to prepare for a career pathway.  CARE offers flexible class times and locations in six counties. Learn how our programs will help prepare you for your future.
Our services and programs, with support from Aspire funding, help students meet their individual, personal and professional goals.
Services and programs available include:
  • Adult Secondary Education
    • High School Equivalence preparation
    • 22+ High School Diploma Program
    • Adult Diploma Program
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills
  • Transition services – helping students develop essential skills for employment and post-secondary
